TROY, N.Y. - A New York City man is accused of a rape in Rensselaer County.

Deputies from The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office say they arrested Edouard Jeremy Brutus, age 23, from Manhattan NY for Rape in the 1^st Degree this past Sunday. Deputies responded to a phone call received at 4:40 am.

Brutus was brought before Honorable Judge Richard Whalen in the town court of Hoosick.

He was released from the Rensselaer County Jail Tuesday on $30,000 bail.
