GALLATIN, N.Y. - A 16-year-old Columbia County teen was killed Monday morning after he apparently drove his bicycle into the path of an oncoming car.
The accident happened on Jackson Corners Road around 7:30 a.m. killing the Pine Plains teenager, whose name has not been released at this time.
New York State Police believe the teen was wearing headphones and pulled out of Brookside Lane, slamming into a car driven by 77-year-old Harold House, of Pleasant Valley.
The driver and a passenger of the car were treated at the scene. No criminal charges are being filed at this time.
State Police are on the scene investigating.
The road was closed until 11 a.m.
