Posted:

ALBANY, NY – Saturday was the first time Country Fest was held in Albany.

It is the 19th year the radio station WGNA hosted the event. The concert has been previously held at the Altamont Fairgrounds. However this year the concert was held at the Times Union Center in Albany.

The City of Albany closed several roads on Saturday due to traffic. Pearl Street was closed at noon for block party.

The block party was free to attend. An outdoor stage had entertainment available until dark. A few local country bands got the chance to perform for the thousands that turned out to the concert. Among those bands was Whiskey City, Lost Cantina, The Back 40 Band, Broken Bow recording artist Dustin Lynch, and Chelsea Cavanaugh.

The main acts performing inside the TU Center include Eric Church, Joe Nichols, Thompson Square, and Josh Thompson.
