ALBANY, N.Y. -- A man who family members reported missing in the Capital Region at the end of May was found alive Thursday afternoon, Colonie Police have confirmed to NEWS10.
Lt. John Archambault said 34-year old Jason Yarnall was found on the grounds of the UAlbany campus.
It started when a call for an apparent intoxicated man walking the school's grounds prompted University Police to respond. Officers found the man and took him to a local hospital for evaluation. While at the hospital he indicated that he was Jason Yarnall. Authorities soon verified his identity.
Investigators with Colonie Police, who handled the case, could not get much more information from Yarnall, as Archambault said he was in no condition to be interviewed.
Archambault added that it appeared Yarnell did not want to be found.
Yarnall's father also confirmed to NEWS10 that his son was found alive Thursday.
Yarnall, originally from Saugus, Massachusetts was reported missing by family members on May 30 after not hearing from him for several weeks. Missing posters for the man said he had recently moved to New York State due to a job transfer.
According to another missing poster, prior searches for Yarnall had resulted in the discoveries of his car, abandoned at the TownePlace Suites extended stay hotel in Albany, and his cell phone, which was found on the UAlbany campus.
Colonie Police expect to release more information Friday.
