HUDSON, N.Y. -- A seven-month old was hospitalized Tuesday night after authorities in Columbia County said a car struck the baby's stroller.

According to Hudson Police, the incident occurred at North 3rd and State Streets in the city. It happened a little after 9 p.m.

Police say the mother was walking with the stroller near the intersection, when a car driven by 24-year-old Bryan Osborn, of Catskill, bumped the stroller while making a right turn onto State Street. The stroller did not fall over.

A dispatcher with Columbia County 911 told NEWS10 that the baby was taken by ambulance to Columbia Memorial Hospital for evaluation, but no apparent injuries were reported.

The dispatcher said a MedFlight helicopter was placed on standby, as per protocol, but not used.

Police also found Osborn had a suspended operator's license. They say the investigation is continuing and traffic citations will be issued.
