Sheriff: Man attacked son with kitchen knives

POESTENKILL, N.Y. - The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office says a Poestenkill man was arrested Monday after he attacked his son with two kitchen knives.

Sheriff Jack Mahar says Brent Allen, of Ronald Drive, allegedly attacked his son with the knives causing several lacerations to his hands during a family domestic incident at the residence, intentionally placing his son Joshua Allen in reasonable fear of physical injury or death.

Brent Allen has been charged with Assault 2nd, a felony, Menacing 2nd, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th, both misdemeanors. He is currently being held at the Rensselaer County Jail.
