LATHAM, N.Y. - On Monday, a community will mourn the death of an 11-year-old girl who was killed while vacationing in Florida with her family last week.
Calling hours for young Ashton Jojo will be held Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Bowen and Parker Funeral Home in Latham.
Police say Ashton was in Orlando playing miniature golf with her family when she tried to get a ball back from a small pond and was electrocuted. Inspectors say it appears
that electrical breakers for the pond's pump were improperly replaced.
She had just finished fifth grade at Southgate Elementary School.
A funeral service will take place Tuesday morning.
