2 arrests in Whitehall for stealing scrap metal

WHITEHALL, NY – Whitehall Police arrested two suspects accused of removing scrap metal near railroad property on Wednesday.

Police responded to a report of suspects trespassing on railroad property on Northeast Street. During investigation, police found two men removing scrap metal from the area and putting it in their vehicle.

Thomas Martin, 27, and Andrew Spanos, 25, both from Vermont, were charged with Petit Larceny, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Trespass, a Violation.

Martin and Spanos were issued appearance tickets to appear in Whitehall Court at a later date.
