FONDA, N.Y. - New York State Police in Fonda are thanking Montgomery County businesses for their support in preventing underage drinking which was indicated in the 100%
compliance in the law.
State police say they conducted an Underage Drinking Initiative throughout the county in which 17 bars, convenience and liquor stores were checked. An undercover underage volunteer who was sent into each establishment in an
attempt to have the clerk/bartender sell or serve the minor alcohol.
None of the checked businesses complied and no arrests were made during the initiative.
If a violation takes place, the business is referred to the New York State Division of
Alcoholic Beverage Control.
