DUANESBURG, N.Y. (AP) - A stretch of Interstate-88's eastbound lanes between Albany and Oneonta is open again after a tractor-trailer hauling frozen pizzas crashed and overturned.
The crash on a bridge in the Schenectady County town of Duanesburg shut down the eastbound side of I-88 between exits 24 and 25 from about 12:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Monday, as crews cleaned up spilled fuel and inspected the span.
Authorities tell the Daily Gazette of Schenectady that the truck jack-knifed in rainy conditions and tipped over, spilling more than 130 gallons of fuel over the highway.
The driver wasn't hurt.
The truck was carrying a load of frozen pizzas from Chicago to Maine when it crashed on a bridge over a creek about 20 miles northwest of Albany.
