1 killed, 2 hurt when motorcycles crash in N.Y.

KINGSTON, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities are trying to determine what caused two motorcycles to crash on a Hudson Valley street and burst into flames, killing one person and severely burning a passenger.

Police in Kingston tell the Daily Freeman of Kingston that the crash occurred around 1 a.m. Monday at an intersection in the city located 50 miles south of Albany.

Authorities are withholding the identity of the motorcyclist who was killed because relatives had not yet been notified.

Police say a 28-year-old woman from Lake Katrine and a 27-year-old man from East Kingston were injured.

Officials say the woman was a passenger on one of the motorcycles. She suffered burns in the fiery crash and is listed in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center.

The man is at the same hospital.

Police say he faces charges.
