Large trailer overturns in Rotterdam

ROTTERDAM, NY – Police are investigating an auto accident that caused a large trailer to overturn on I-890 Sunday in Rotterdam.

The accident happened around 6:41 p.m. at the eastbound ramp from Route 7.

Police say a commercial vehicle was towing a large equipment trailer that was carrying a directional boring machine when it overturned.

The road was closed for two hours while crews up righted the trailer and removed the boring machine from the roadway.

There was also a minor spill of hydraulic fluid that was contained by the Schenectady County Haz-Mat Team and Carman Fire Department.

The cause of the accident has not been released at this time. Rotterdam Police and New York State Police are investigating the accident.
