
ALBANY, NY – A total of 41 parking summonses were issued on Thursday during a handicap parking saturation initiative in Albany County.
"Project Access" Handicap Parking issued tickets to people to were parked illegally in designated handicapped parking spaces.
The Albany Police Department issued the highest amount of tickets, totaling at 24. The Bethlehem Police Department issued the second highest amount of tickets, totaling at 11.
All of the issued tickets total $6,950.00 in fines.
The program was first implemented in December 1994. Since then, there has been 49 enforcement details conducted, resulting in a total of 2,376 summonses issued and a total of $278,520.00 in fines being levied.
