MAYFIELD, N.Y. - A Mayfield woman is now facing animal abuse charges after four dead animals were found in the home she was evicted from earlier this week.
The Fulton County Sheriff's Office says an investigation has led to the arrest of 30-year-old Tirzah Henry, formerly of 395 Progress Road, was arrested around 11:00 a.m. Friday, following a report from the landlord indicating a disturbance even though Henry had already been evicted.
Deputies quickly responded to the scene and Henry was taken into custody being charged with one count of Disorderly Conduct, a violation, one count of Overdriving, Torturing and Injuring Animals / Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance, a misdemeanor and one count of unlawful Disposal of Dead Animals, a misdemeanor.
34 dogs and a few other animals were removed from the home Tuesday morning during Henry's eviction. The Mayfield Dog Warden also said four dead animals were found around the home including a deceased German Sheppard found in the cellar who had been dead about three days, a Rottweiler puppy approximately four-weeks-old was found dead in the a bathroom, a partially-eaten poodle puppy who was less than one-week-old was found dead on a back deck, and a rabbit was found dead, as well.
Henry's landlord told NEWS10 he had been trying to evict her since March.
She has been remanded to the Fulton County Correctional Facility.
