BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The National Weather Service says two more high temperature records have been set in Vermont
The high of 97 in Burlington Thursday eclipsed the previous high of 95, set in 1953,
The top of Mount Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak, hit a high of 77, beating the previous high of 76, set in 1988.
Meanwhile, across the state people did what they could to cool off.
There were dozens of people Thursday at a swimming hole on Route 100B in Moretown.
Eighteen-year-old Lucy Basa of Montpelier was at the swimming hole with the three children she was babysitting, aged 3, 6 and 7.
Basa said it was super-hot and they were trying to cool off.
