COHOES, NY – Cohoes Fire Chief Joseph M. Fahd was named Fire Chief of the Year by the New York State Fire Chiefs Association.
Chief Fahd began working with the fire service in Albany in 1966. He was named deputy chief in 1994 and retired from the department in 2002 after 35-years of service. In 2003 he became chief of the City of Cohoes Fire Department.
Cohoes Mayor John McDonalds says Chief Fahd "has been a valued member of the administration and continues to lead our Cohoes Fire Department with enthusiasm and dedication."
Fahd was nominated by Albany County Sheriff Craig.
