ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Two Republican senators say their chamber is set to consider casting the deciding vote on whether to limit disclosure of New York teacher evaluations only to parents.
They say the issue is expected to be discussed Thursday morning in a closed-door conference. The bill could be voted on later in the day, the last of the regular legislative session.
The senators spoke on condition of anonymity because all discussions in the conference have been confidential.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo's proposal has already been passed by the Assembly.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who's closely allied with the Senate GOP, has sought full public disclosure of the evaluations. But he says Wednesday he's willing to listen to any proposal.
Cuomo wants only parents to see the evaluations of their child's teacher.
