Ulster County man dies in fall from roof

SAUGERTIES, N.Y. (AP) - State police say a 27-year-old man found dead in a parking lot in the Ulster County village of Saugerties apparently fell from a roof.

Someone called 911 shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday to report the man lying in the parking lot of 265 Main Street, a three-story building with businesses on the street level and apartments above.

A police investigation concluded that 27-year-old Donald Briggs of Saugerties died of injuries suffered in an accidental fall. An autopsy is scheduled and the investigation is continuing.
