Dogs that attacked man in Pittstown to be euthanized

Posted:

PITTSTOWN, N.Y. – A Pittstown town justice has ruled that two dogs that viciously attacked a man there Tuesday must be euthanized.

The justice made the decision during a hearing late Friday afternoon in Pittstown Town Court, according to Richard Seror, the son of the victim.

The dogs had been in town custody since the incident.

Seror's father, 65-year old James Seror, was working in his front yard when the dogs got loose and bit him more than 100 times. The older Seror was hospitalized in critical condition, following the attack.

An official with Pittstown Animal Control said the dogs belonged to the James Seror's brother.

Richard Seror told NEWS10 the dogs will be destroyed sometime Saturday morning.
