GLOVERSVILLE, NY – A Gloversville man was arrested on Monday
for allegedly having sexual contact with an eight-year-old female.
Police say 51-year-old Michael Mauro, of 7 Burr Street, had
sexual contact with the young girl that was living with him at the time.
An investigation was initiated after child protective
services contacted detectives about an alleged sexual offense against the
child. An interview of the child was also initiated at the Fulton County Child
Advocacy Center.
Mauro was arrested and charged with Predatory Sexual Assault
Against a Child, a Class A Felony. Additional charges are pending at this time.
Mauro was arraigned and remanded to the Fulton County Correction Facility. No
bail has been set at this time.
