BOLTON, NY – Two people were seriously injured in a motorcycle crash in
Bolton on Friday.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office received a report of a serious personal
injury motorcycle crash on Lake Shore Drive in the Town of Bolton at 12:39 p.m.
The crash occurred two miles north of Padanarum Road.
Timothy Wood, 49, of Scotia, and Terri Costello, 49,
of Schenectady, were injured.
Wood was operating southbound on Lake Shore Drive and
failed to negotiate a sweeping right hand turn. The motorcycle crossed the
northbound lane of travel and impacted with a steel box beam guard rail.
Both Wood and his passenger Costello were ejected from the motorcycle.
Wood suffered serious head injuries and was
unconscious at the scene. Costello suffered serious left side injuries and
was thrown over the guard rail and down an embankment. Both were wearing
helmets.
Both were transported from the scene to a helicopter
and subsequently taken to Albany Medical Center.
The accident remains under investigation by the Warren
County Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit with the assistance of the Criminal
Investigations Unit.
The Bolton Fire Department, Bolton Emergency Squad,
North Warren Emergency Squad, and a member of the New York State Police
responded and assisted at the scene.
