ARGYLE, NY – The men accused of duct taping a dog and leaving him in the cold to die will face trial.

Shane Morehouse and Louis Hart rejected plea deals in the case and will take their cases to trial later this month.

Hart's dog Chubby was found left on the side of an Argyle road in February with his mouth and legs duct taped.

Police say Morehouse admitted to leaving Chubby like that because Hart asked him to because the dog suffered from a serious illness.

Morehouse is charged with Aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony under Buster's Law, torture, injury and not feeding animal and abandonment of animal, both misdemeanors.

Hart is charged with Cruelty to Animals, a felony charge, and one count of Abandonment, a misdemeanor.
