ALBANY, NY – Fifteen Albany High School students graduated
on Thursday from the NanoHigh program.
The NanoHigh program is believed to be the first initiative
of its kind at a public high school in the country. It is partnered between the
College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering of the University at Albany and
the City School District of Albany.
The program is designed to enhance students' opportunities
to take advantage of nanotechnology-related educational and career
opportunities in the Capital Region and in New York State. It also encourages
students to pursue opportunities in science and engineering. Students take part
in hands-on experiences to prepare them for their potential futures in
nanotechnology.
A total of 90 students have graduated since the program
launched in the 2007-08 academic year.
