SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A Pittsfield man has been sentenced to up to 25 years in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting two young girls over several years.
Aaron Tarjick was sentenced Tuesday in Hampden Superior Court to 19 to 25 years behind bars, followed by 10 years of probation and was ordered to register as a sex offender.
He was convicted Monday of 17 counts, including aggravated rape of a child and indecent assault and battery on a child. He was acquitted of 1 charge.
Authorities say he assaulted the girls in Dalton, Becket and Middlefield between 2006 and 2010. One girl was between 9 and 12 at the time of the assaults, while the other was between 9 and 13.
Both testified at Tarjick's trial.
