TROY, N.Y. - Troy police say an arrest has been made, and further arrests are expected, in connection to recent shooting incidents in Troy.
Police say they have arrested 22-year-old Shateek Lainer, of 10th Street in Troy, on Friday in connection to the May 29th shooting of a 17-year-old Troy male.
Police say the victim was shot as he ran from Lainer, and suffered multiple gun shot wounds to the leg.
Troy Detectives, in possession of ample intelligence gathered through the
investigation of two previous shootings, were able to quickly identify and
Lanier has been remanded to the Rensselear County Jail without bail.
"Our investigation shows that this arrest has ties to the recent spate of gun violence in our city. We can confidently state that the arrest of Shateek Lanier is merely the first step of many to follow relative to making our streets safe for all our residents, especially our children," stated Chief John Tedesco.
