Police: Pittsfield man stole exterminator's truck

Posted:

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A Pittsfield man police say stole an exterminator's truck and led officers on a high-speed chase through the city has been ordered held on $100,000 bond on a variety of charges.

Sean Winston pleaded not guilty Tuesday in Central Berkshire District Court to charges including receiving a stolen motor vehicle and reckless driving in connection with Monday morning's chase.

Authorities say the pickup truck owned by a pest control company forced other drivers off the road, ignored traffic signals and signs, and swerved in and out of traffic at high speeds. Police say Winston also dumped pesticides from the truck into a state forest.

The Berkshire Eagle reports Winston also pleaded not guilty to drug charges and larceny charges for allegedly using a stolen credit card.
