POTTERSVILLE, N.Y. - The Warren County Sheriff's Office says a Brant Lake man drowned late Friday night in a pond at a campground in Pottersville.
25-year-old Jason Konazewski drowned while swimming around 11:00 p.m. Friday at the Wakonda Family Campground.
Authorities say Konazewski was visiting friends at the campground when he left them and decided to go for a swim. Friends of his found his body in the pond off East Schroon River Road.
The sheriff's office says circumstances of his drowning are under investigation. Friends say he was drinking earlier in the night, but it was not believed he was intoxicated.
Routine autopsy and toxicology tests will be done.
Funeral services for Konazewski will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the North Brant
Lake Cemetery.
