
ALBANY, N.Y. - Two high schools in the Capital Region, Guilderland High School and Shenendehowa High School, have made an annual list of "America's Best High Schools" released by the Daily Beast.
The rankling highlights the best 1,000 public high schools in the nation, proven to be most effective in turning out college-ready graduates. The rankings are based on six components provided by school administrators: Graduation rate (25%), college matriculation rate (25%), AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student (25%), average SAT/ACT scores (10%), average AP/IB/AICE scores (10%) and AP courses offered per student (5%).
Guilderland High School ranked #591 on the list, out of 1,000, and Shenendehowa ranked #898.
