AMSTERDAM, NY – An Amsterdam woman was arrested on Wednesday
for allegedly stealing her employer's identity while working as a home health
aide.
Susan Merritt is accused of stealing personal information from
a victim who employed her as a home health aide. Merritt allegedly charged over
$2,500 to a credit card in the victim's name she fraudulently opened.
Merritt was charged with Identity Theft First Degree. She
was arraigned in the Town of Mohawk Court and released on her own recognizance.
She is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Amsterdam Court to answer the
charge.
