PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A Stockbridge town employee accused of sexually assaulting three young girls when he worked at a school has pleaded not guilty to 16 separate charges.
Scott Muir was arraigned Tuesday in Berkshire Superior Court on four more charges than he originally faced in district court.
Not guilty pleas were entered on his behalf and he was allowed to remain free on $10,000 cash bail.
Prosecutors say the 36-year-old Muir assaulted the girls around age 10 between 2003 and 2005 when he worked as a counselor at the Stockbridge Plain School. He faces multiple charges of forcible rape of a child and indecent assault and battery.
Muir is on paid administrative leave from his positions as captain of the Stockbridge Fire Department, town emergency management director, and Town Offices facility manager.
