  • Proposition #2- Shall the Board of Education of the Greenwich Central School District be authorized to purchase (2) two 66 passenger school buses at a total maximum estimated cost of $203,604 to be raised by the levy of a tax on the taxable property of said school district and collected in annual installments as provided by section 416 of the Education Law, with obligations of the District to be issued in anticipation thereof

  • Proposed staffing cuts: 6 staffers going from FT to PT (in the areas of Social Studies, English Language Arts, Foreign Language, Art, Science, and Special Education)
  • Proposed 2012-2013 budget: $10,247,157
  • Percentage increase/decrease in budget: (-$84,755)
  • Tax levy increase/decrease: +2.9% (Does NOT need supermajority [60%] approval to pass)
  • Proposed program cuts: Intramurals, cheerleading, history club, and Elementary Student Government, district will also not participate in the Young Scholars Program offered by BOCES.
  • Proposition #1- In addition to the tentative budget plan, the Board of Education also approved a transportation proposition that if approved by the public to would authorize the District to purchase a new sixty-six passenger bus.  The cost of which is not to exceed $108,000.
  • BOE ELECTION- There is one board seat up for election as well.  The seat held by Mr. Jessen expires on June 30, 2012.  Mr. Jessen has submitted a petition to run for re-election.  Currently no other petition has been filed.
