Yaqoob Chauhan
ALBANY, NY – An Albany man is accused of tying up his wife with dog leashes and assaulting her while children were nearby, officials say.
Local law enforcement tells NEWS10 ABC they had to call on the U.S. Marshals to track down 36-year-old Yaqoob Chauhan, of Albany. Enforcement says they traced Chauhan all the way to Washington D.C.
Chauhan is accused of tying up his wife using dog leashes and holding her hostage for hours. During that time it's alleged that he assaulted her several times while children were nearby.
Chauhan is facing a felony charge of predatory sex act. He was formally arraigned on Friday. As of Monday night he was being held at the Albany County Jail without bail.
A grand jury is expected to take on this case.
