SCHOHARIE, NY - Guernsey's Schoharie Nursery reopened on Friday after it was damaged during Hurricane Irene and Lee.
The historic business was open for 123 years. However last August the business was shut down because of the storms. About eight feet of water flooded the area. A few months ago the nursery was still under repair.
The owner of Guernsey's Schoharie Nursery says it's taken about half a million dollars and countless months in order to reclaim his nursery.
The reopening on Friday was more than just a ribbon cutting ceremony. It also symbolized the pulling together of a community that was uprooted when the storms struck.
