SCHOHARIE, NY – The Schoharie little league field reopened on Saturday.
The league field located at Fox Creek Park was destroyed in Hurricane Irene and Lee.
Hundreds of residents have volunteered their time to refurbish the field and make sure children have a place to play this season.
The grand opening was a welcoming event for residents. Schoharie residents waited nearly eight months for the water damaged field to be completely restored.
The grand opening occurred the same day the Schoharie little league celebrates its 50th anniversary.
