
CATSKILL, N.Y. - On April 27th, the Greene County Sheriff's Office arrested two students from the Hunter-Tannersville Central School in relation to a drug sale that occurred on school grounds.
The sheriff's office was alerted to this incident by school officials last Wednesday when a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male were observed by a teacher at the school engaging in unusual behavior in the classroom.
The teacher confronted both students and found that money and drugs reportedly had been exchanged. Suboxone was found in the possession of the 16-year-old, which is a controlled substance used to treat opiate addiction.
The 17-year-old was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in or near school grounds, a Class B Felony, Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, a Class C Felony and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th degree, a class D Felony. He was arraigned in the Town of Catskill Court and was remanded to Greene County Jail in lieu of $1000 cash bail or $3000 bail bond.

16-year-old male was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance
7th degree, a class A Misdemeanor and was released on an appearance
ticket.
