ADAMS, Mass. – Fire and emergency crews from a few Berkshire County towns helped fight a house fire Tuesday evening in Adams.

Town police said calls for the fire, on 3 Baskin Lane, first came around 6 p.m. Crews got most of the fire knocked down by around 8:30 p.m.

While firefighters battled the flames, a portion of the home's roof collapsed. There were no injuries to responders reported.

Police further told NEWS10 that a resident of the first floor apartment was taken by ambulance to a hospital. The officer said the resident was transported for precautionary measures and not as a result of injuries sustained in the fire.

There is no word on a cause at this time.

In addition to Adams, fire crews from Cheshire and Clarksburg, as well as numerous ambulance companies, provided aid.
