BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) - Organizers of another protest against the continued operation of the Vermont Yankee nuclear power plant are expecting at least 2,000 people, including Gov. Peter Shumlin and U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders.
The rally is planned for 12-2 p.m. on Saturday on The Common in Brattleboro.
Organizers are busing in supporters from the Montpelier area as well as from Massachusetts.
Last month more than 100 people were arrested after they marched from the Common to the Brattleboro headquarters of the Vermont Yankee plant.
The plant's original 40-year license expired last month.
The state of Vermont has opposed the continued operation of the plant, but the plant's owner, Entergy Nuclear, won an order from a federal court judge that allowed it to continue operating.
