AMSTERDAM, N.Y. - The New York man found to be responsible for a role in the robbery and accidental shooting of David Ortiz was sentenced Thursday in Fulton County Court.
26-year-old Louis Robinson, of Bronx, was sentenced to 18 years in state prison and 5 years post-release supervision for two counts of Robbery 2nd, two counts Robber 1st, two counts of Criminal Use of a Firearm, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon, two counts of Assault 2nd and Grand Larceny.
The sentence stems from Robinson's role in the August 2011 mid-day robbery and shooting death of Ortiz outside Naif's on North Main Street in the City of Gloversville.
District Attorney Louise Sira maintained that Robinson was instrumental in and orchestrated the robbery of Ortiz.
