GREENPORT, N.Y. - The Columbia County Sheriff's Office says they have made an arrest in the robbery of the Bank of Greene County in Greenport that occurred on Monday.
Sheriff's investigators say they arrested 24-year-old Jonathan Mills, of Rochester, after he was located at a motel in Elmsford, in Westchester County, early Wednesday morning.
Mills is charged with Robbery 3rd-degree and Grand Larceny 3rd-degree, both felonies. He has been remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail.
The investigation is continuing, as investigators believe Mills may be connected to other bank robberies in the area. Sheriff David Harrison, Jr. says this investigation will most likely result in solving several other bank robberies in New York State and additional arrests are possible.
