RENSSELAER, N.Y. - Police in East Greenbush say a Rensselaer woman has been charged with shoplifting for the second time at a local Wal-Mart store.
Police say 28-year-old Trisha Palmer, of 3rd Street in Rensselaer, was arrested after she was allegedly caught shoplifting around 10 p.m. Tuesday in the presence of her 3-year-old daughter. Store detectives say they saw Palmer taking $184 worth of merchandise from the store without paying for it.
Palmer was caught stealing from the same Wal-Mart store in June 2010, police say. She was served with a "no trespassing" warning after that arrest.
As a result of ignoring her "no trespassing" requirement, she is charged with Burglary 3rd, for entering the store on Tuesday with the intention of stealing, according to police. She was also charged with Child Endangerment, since her daughter was present during the incident.
Palmer was arraigned in East Greenbush Court and remanded to the Rensselaer County Jail for lack of bail.
A relative showed up to take care of her daughter.
