BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Two police detectives and an intern have been injured in a car accident while driving to a reported stabbing in Bennington, Vt.

Bennington Police chief Paul Doucette says a Jeep pulled onto Main Street and collided with the detectives' car Wednesday afternoon, which was unmarked but had its blue lights and siren on.

The Bennington Banner reports Det. Sgt. David Rowland suffered the worst of the injuries, a 6-inch cut to his right leg. All three were treated for injuries and released. The driver of the Jeep and a passenger were evaluated, but declined further treatment.

No charges have been filed in the crash, which is under investigation.
