PERTH, N.Y. – A single family home caught fire early Thursday morning in the town of Perth, resulting in the residence being uninhabitable.
Officials from the Perth Fire Department tell News10 that calls came in at roughly 4 a.m. for a structure fire at the address of 429 County Highway Rt. 158.
The fire ignited in the garage portion of the home and quickly spread to the rest of the house, engulfing it in flames.
There were two people inhabiting the residence at the time of the fire but were able to be evacuated safely and unharmed of any injuries.
The home has been declared uninhabitable and it is uncertain as of now when it will be demolished.
Assisting Fire Stations are as listed: Perth, Broadalbin, Berkshire and Hagaman. Fire fighters were on scene until roughly 10:30 a.m. this morning extinguishing the flames.
The American Red Cross has stepped in to provide assistance to this family.
