WEST LEBANON, N.Y. - State Police say they arrested two men in a New Lebanon church parking lot after finding them in possession of drugs.
Police say they received a call reporting a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, which is where they found 28-year-old Aaron Shoemaker and 25-year-old Gary Despart, both of Averill Park.
Police say Shoemaker was allegedly in possession of a hypodermic needle and Despart was allegedly in possession of two hypodermic needles and a glass pipe with crack cocaine residue.
Shoemaker was charged with Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument. Despart was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree and Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument.
Both men were ticketed for appearances in the New Lebanon Town Court.
Shoemaker was also found to be wanted by the Town of Ghent Court for Criminal Impersonation. He was turned over to State Police from the Livingston barracks, arraigned and sent to the Columbia County Jail in lieu of $2,500 bail.
