COLONIE, N.Y. – A teenage male has been arrested in Colonie after he fled the State of Massachusetts in an attempt to hideout against alleged charges he had against him.

Lt. Winn from the Colonie Police Department tells NEWS10 ABC that a 19-year-old male was arrested Wednesday night in Colonie after State Police in Massachusetts tipped them off that he might be in the area.

Massachusetts police had a warrant out for the arrest of James Howze after he fled the state in an attempt to escape alleged charges he had against him.

Colonie police found Howze hiding out at the Econo Lodge on Watervliet-Shaker Road Wednesday night. After Howze was spotted, he ran on foot and was chased down by police. He was caught behind a residence located in Green Acres, behind the motel.

According to Winn, Howze faces charges of Assault, Battery, and Motor Vehicle Theft.
