ALBANY - A number of special interest groups are lobbying New York lawmakers at the Capitol as part of their "putting people first" campaign.
New Yorkers for Fiscal Fairness and a number of similar organizations released what they're calling a counter budget to the NY budget due April first.
The groups are looking to get a raise in the minimum wage, $250 million restored in education funding, and greater access to welfare grants and health care programs for the neediest of New Yorkers.
They say the state could pay for the wish list if it would only close corporate tax loopholes that are not being enforced.
