ADAMS, Mass. - A Berkshire County teenager is facing charges after allegedly stealing a school bus and taking it for a joyride around the region.
Adams Police Department tells NEWS10 ABC 17-year-old Brandon Bolte, of North Adams, was arraigned Monday morning in North Berkshire District Court on charges of larceny of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property. He has been held in the Adams Police Department since being arrested late Sunday afternoon.
Police in Adams say they recieved a call Pittsfield police around 5:00 p.m. after a relative of Bolte's reported that he had taken the bus. The joyride ended around 5:30 p.m. Sunday when Adams police pulled the
bus over on Commercial Street and officers arrested the driver without
incident.
The bus belongs to Dufour Inc. of Hinsdale, and was taken from their parking lot on Hoosac Street. It was not damaged.
Police are unsure how Bolte got access to the bus or when it was taken.
