BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) - Police believe a Vermont man may have been suffering from a medical emergency when the van he was driving crashed into a tree. The man was found unresponsive and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.
Police say 60-year-old Thomas Crowley first sideswiped a car on a Bennington street Tuesday, then continued driving through an intersection and then onto a street. Police said he drove up onto a sidewalk before before veering back onto the road, across the street and into a large tree.
An autopsy is being conducted.
