ALBANY, N.Y. - The University at Albany women's basketball team will be heading to the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history this year.
The Great Danes got an automatic bid Saturday night, after winning the America East Championship over Maryland-Baltimore County 69 to 61, making the game their tenth straight win.
On Monday night, the UAlbany Great Danes (23-9) eared a 14th seed during the NCAA Tournament Selection Show on ESPN, and are headed to Texas to take on Texas A&M (22-10) on Satuday night. The Aggies won the national championship last year, and this year fall in the 3rd seed.
The game starts at 6:30 p.m. Saturday night. Good luck to the Lady Danes!
