
NORTHFIELD, VT - A house fire in Northfield does $20,000 in damage.
The incident happened on South Main Street Friday evening at a two home apartment building. One apartment was vacant and the other was being rented by a woman who was not there when the fire started.
A Northfield police officer noticed the fire and called for the fire department. One of the firefighters saved a dog that was still in the apartment.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it is not considered to be suspicious.
