Edward McDonough
Michael LoPorto
TROY, NY
- Jurors in the Troy
voter fraud trial were sent home early on Friday.
Around 2:30 p.m. on Friday the jury
told the court they were still deadlocked. Judge Pulver directed them to go
back to the jury room to keep deliberating on the charges for at least another
hour. However they were unable to reach a verdict.
The jury has been weighing charges against two Troy politicians. Troy democratic politicians Edward McDonough and Michael LoPorto both face
multiple charges. Former
Rensselaer County
Commissioner Edward McDonough and former Troy Councilman Michael LoPorto are
accused of trying to steer the 2009 Working Family Party with an absentee
ballot scheme.
Jurors will meet again on Monday to continue deliberations.
